Explore the Toledo Zoo with a Zoo Educator while completing requirements needed to earn your animal related Badges and Adventures! Programs are available for groups of Girl Scouts or Cub Scouts. All programs are 2 hours long and will feature live animal demos and at exhibit lessons.

Badges for Girl Scouts

Daisies: Clover Petal, Rose Petal, Eco Learner

Brownies: Pets, Bugs, Eco Friend

Juniors: Habitats, Journey: Think Like a Citizen Scientist

Cadettes: Animal Helpers

Seniors: Eco Explorer, Voice for the Animals

Adventures for Cub Scouts

Lion: Mountain Lion, Champions for Nature

Tiger: Tigers in the Wild, Champions for Nature

Wolf: Digging in the Past, Paws on the Path, Champions for Nature, Spirit of the Water

Bear: Bear Habitat, Critter Care, Champions for Nature

Webelos: Champions for Nature

Arrow of Light: Champions for Nature, Into the Woods, Into the Wild

Group size is limited to 15 scouts and total group size cannot exceed 35. Please note that materials will be provided only for participating scouts.

Cost: $65 per program

Times: 1:00-3:00 pm

This program will start and end at the Zoo entrance, entry to the Zoo before or after will require admission

Merit Badge Day at the Toledo Zoo

Monday, April 21, 2025

9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Work with Toledo Zoo Merit Badge Counselors to complete one of the Merit Badges listed below:

• Bird Study

• Mammal Study

• Oceanography

• Reptile and Amphibian Study

Zoo staff will help scouts earn the badge through animal demonstrations, exhibit visits, tours, and hands-on activities. Please note the following prerequisites:

• Bird Study – 5 a, b, c, and d

• Mammal Study – no prerequisites

• Oceanography – no prerequisites

• Reptile and Amphibian Study – 9c

The program will take place in all weather and will be both indoors and outdoors. Please come dressed for the weather.

This is a drop off program and there will not be room for adults or siblings to participate. If your child requires an accommodation, please reach out to education@toledozoo.org.

Please note that materials will be provided only for participating scouts. Merit Badge patch is not included. Scouts should bring a physical “blue card” for sign off.
