HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM 2022-2023

In this year’s Toledo Zoo homeschool program, we will explore animal topics within the framework of science, technology, engineering and math. From the physics of a cheetah running to the chemistry of poisonous dart frogs, animal topics will be explored using hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and projects.

This three-season program starts in September 2022 and runs through mid-May 2023 (excluding January). Each month will focus on a STEM topic and feature amazing animals as we learn about the topic. Toledo Zoo’s homeschool program is a fun way to learn through group activities, live animals and Zoo visits! Program participants will be divided by age.

Single class packages not available.

PROGRAM GUIDELINES:

  • Class size limited to 15 students and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. A minimum of 8 students for each class is required. The Zoo will contact students one week prior to class if it is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

  • Classes are for ages 5-15. Students will be divided into classes of similar age.

  • Choose from Morning (10:30 AM-12:00 PM) or Afternoon (1:30 PM-3:00 PM) sessions.

  • Refunds may be issued only in emergencies and if notification is given before the class has been held.

  • Classes begin promptly at scheduled times. Please plan accordingly, as there will be no late admittance.

  • Registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

  • Program fees do not include admission to the Toledo Zoo for families

  • The Zoo will follow the guidance of the CDC and area school districts for COVID prevention protocols. Currently masks are not required.

Program Fee:$120 per child for members; $150 per child for non-members. Fee includes all 7 monthly classes, family admission to the zoo for the final project fair, and a Toledo Zoo take-home item.
